Easily Navigational
It is an awkward situation to visit web pages that do not really exist because of disorganised hyperlinks.
Well designed web sites are not only meant for what appear to the world but also internal site structures.
It is very frustating to find that some web sites put every files on the root directory instead of specific directories relatively.
The same thing for images used throughout the websites. The common directory for images is an acceptable standard of all professional web designers.
We have our own designing patterns and also conform to international standard of web layouts. This not only helps avoid missing links in sites navigation
but makes sites maintenance a snap when other developers take over the web sites maintenance job.
Every site we design and program will have a common pattern for every page and a hyperlink to home page.
We never use multiple designs and layouts which lack professional looks and feels.
@ Lumpini, we have our pattern to store data and verify our testing for broken links throughly before posting on the web.
